Arsenal and Aubameyang had it all to do in the return leg of this fascinating tie.
The Gunners suffered an embarrassing 3-1 defeat to Rennes away from home with Unai Emery’s side looking on the brink of going out.
However, they had the chance to redeem themselves at the Emirates and did just that.
RENNES, FRANCE – MARCH 07: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Arsenal and his team-mates show their dejection after conceding a second goal during the UEFA Europa League Round of 16 First Leg match between Stade Rennais and Arsenal at Roazhon Park on March 07, 2019 in Rennes, France. Gunners make Europa League comeback
That is because within five minutes of the game kicking off Arsenal were in front.
Some smart play between Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Aaron Ramsey saw Aubameyang score from just a few yards out.
That was the goal that Arsenal fans needed to push their side on and it didn’t take long until they were level.
Some brilliant work from Aubameyang, albeit from an offside position, dug out a brilliant cross to the back post.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles was able to get onto the end of it and head home in the 15th minute to give Arsenal the all-important second goal.
That meant that Rennes would have to score if they were to go through and the Gunners had to weather the storm somewhat.
That was until Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored his second of the night, putting the tie beyond Rennes.
The striker latched onto Sead Kolašinac’s low cross to tap the ball home.
Though, it wasn’t his goal that saw him become a social media sensation.
After scoring Arsenal’s third goal, Aubameyang ran towards the advertising boards before picking up a bag just behind it.
Auba then picked a Black Panther mask out of the bag, before putting it on and celebrating with the Black Panther’s trademark ‘Wakanda Forever’ pose!
Aubameyang is known for his superhero celebrations after donning a Spiderman and Batman mask during his time at Borussia Dortmund.
Safe to say, Marvel fans were delighted to see his celebration!
From Batman to Black Panther!
