According to the Mirror, Herrera is set to earn ‘in excess of £300,000-a-week at Paris Saint Germain.’

That certainly gives some insight into his decision to leave Manchester United.

According to their report, Herrera ’had been offered a new deal at United but they could not get close to the package which he is signing up for at PSG.’
While Manchester United could probably have offered that, there were some reservations.

The Mirror claim Man United feared ‘if they put Herrera on a mega-deal that it could soon become a financial burden on an ageing player who has struggled in recent times to be a guaranteed starter.’

As a result, Herrera was allowed to leave Manchester United and will earn a staggering £300,000 per week at Paris Saint-Germain.
