At the same time, Bale’s position also appears fixed: he wants to see out the remaining four years of his Los Blancos contract.

Bale’s problematic situation prompted the following analysis on BBC 5 Live radio on Monday night.

Why Bale moving to Liverpool makes sense

Should Liverpool make a move to sign Bale?
That point of view was advocated by Paul Ince.

Ince argued that Bale’s next career move shouldn’t be motivated by money.

Now 30, Bale has been advised to focus on winning trophies in the final chapter of his wonderful career.

Liverpool FC have also been portrayed as a perfect club for Bale right now.

Jurgen Klopp heads into the new season with concerns about his three forwards.
Sadio Mane has only just started his vacation following the African Cup of Nations.

Mo Salah also competed at AFCON 2019, starring for home nation Egypt.

While Roberto Firmino was part of Brazil’s victorious Copa America squad this summer.

Fearing burnout from Liverpool’s front-three, Ince believe that Bale could slot into Anfield perfectly.

Whether the Welsh star would be willing to take a pay-cut to join Liverpool, however, remains doubtful.

Tottenham’s parity problem with re-signing Bale

It’s common knowledge that Tottenham have a right of first refusal on re-signing Bale.

While, when asked about the possibility of Bale’s Spurs return, Mauricio Pochettino said “I don’t know”.

Yet, when discussing the likelihood of Bale rejoining Tottenham on BBC 5 Live, Don Hutchinson explained why Spurs are hugely unlikely to complete the deal.

Don Hutchinson explained that the likes of Harry Kane will have a clause in his contract which ensured parity with the highest wage earner at the club.

Thus, should Spurs sign Bale on massive wages, Kane’s pay-packet would have to increase as well.
